Note to self...

Next time you make a commitment to read at least a book a week for a year, maybe you shouldn't read so many books at the same time. And maybe also read shorter books.

Shown:
  • The Very Picture of You, by Isabel Wolff (fiction, for my library book club)
  • Under the Dome, by Stephen King (fiction, on sale for A DOLLAR, that's like 0.1 cents per page)
  • If I Loved You, I Would Tell You This, by Robin Black (short stories, on loan from the Grub Street library)
  • Sex at Dawn, by Christopher Ryan & Cacilda Jethá (non-fiction)
  • Negotiating With the Dead: A Writer On Writing, by Margaret Atwood (non-fiction)
  • John Dies at the End, by David Wong (fiction)
  • My Mother She Killed Me, My Father He Ate Me, edited by Kate Bernheimer (short stories)
  • Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway, by Susan Jeffers (self-help, and I'm only a little embarrassed to be reading it)
Not shown (reading on Kindle):
  • Zone One, by Colson Whitehead (fiction)
  • The Diamond Age, by Neal Stephenson (fiction)
  • Super Sad True Love Story, by Gary Shteyngart (fiction)

So, what are you reading? I need more suggestions because obviously this just isn't enough.

  1. Hey there! I know I've been missing for a while, but I'm finally back. As for suggestions on reading, something a little outside your regular box might be "Magic the Gathering: Arena" by William R. Forstchen. It's based on a card game and I absolutely loved it. Probably a bit different than what you'd normally pickup.

  2. Mr Slow Reader here is not going to be doing any book a week challenges, though I'd like to read a book a week. Too much blogging activity going on. The book I'm currently trying to get through is The Hidden Power of Your Customers about growing business through social media and other means. I think I need to read a novel next.
Last year I read Under the Dome--it's a tome, but it's a fairly quick easy read.

  3. Hi there,

I always seem to end up reading many things at once and have a huge pile of books I need to get through and yet, I can't stop. :)

Grace Williams Says It Loud by Emma Henderson was a book that really suprised me (in a good way.) I didn't think I was going to like it but couldn't put it down. Sophie Kinsella is always good if you want something fun. :)
