Okay, who's doing NaNoWriMo with me? And, if you want to be my writing buddy, would you please let me know here in the comments who you are on the NaNo website? I'm CKHB there as well as here, and I don't mind saying that I get wildly confused when I know someone by one name on a chat room, another name on blogger, and a third name on NaNo. I need help. I need a cheat sheet. Identify yourself in the comments, please!
Anyone still on the fence? Please ask your questions in the comments and give me the chance to try to convince you.
And, do y'all know what you're going to write about yet? I'm working on another "smart chick lit" novel... tell me your genre of choice!
ETA: Remember when I told you guys about Wordle? And I suggested that it might be a good tool for revealing certain habits you have as a writer? Well, check out Nathan Bransford's Wordle of the contest entries: see how big the word "like" is? We used lots of similes in those first paragraphs...

Me! I've already registered ;) I'll be writing YA of course. Hopefully I won't pull out all my hair... BTW, Loved Nathan's wordle. And to think I contributed ;)
ReplyDeleteI was up until 4am last night playing with Wordle after seeing the midnight opening of Where the Wild Things Are. It was fun. But I need to keep myself from Wordling everything I come across. :D Thanks for the wonderful distraction, CKHB.
ReplyDeleteI'm so doing NaNoWriMo. My name is leolewis. Feel free to buddy me! :D
I'm working on a YA adventure novel about Medieval England, Dragons, and Mortuary Science. Oh yes. There will be a body count.
Oh gosh, I just can't bring myself to NaNo. But I am going to kind of substitute my own plan, which is to try to wrap up my current WIP - 30k-40k to go, though. That's a lot of work!
ReplyDeleteBest to you, lady!
I checked it out last night. Wordle is pretty cool! Gonna have to play around with that!
ReplyDeleteI'm not signed up for NaNo, but I will be writing! November's usually a really creative month for me. I'm excited to see what happens!
Have fun! I'll be cheering all you NaNo's on while I sit and eat Halloween candy. Oh yeah!
ReplyDeleteI'll be there! My username is NBB.
ReplyDeleteI'm still pondering it. I need a really solid idea first if I do join you!
ReplyDeleteT.Anne!!!!! Congrats, you were an honorable mention in Nathan's contest! There were 10 finalists and 18 honorable mentions, so you're in the top 28 out of an estimated 2400-2500 valid entries. NICELY DONE.
ReplyDeleteI'm there! I don't usually participate in the sense of being in forums and such about it. I just start writing Nov. 1 and try to finish by the end. I'll be working on this year's entry for Delacorte Press's First Young Adult Novel contest. I don't know why I try every year, though, since they pick frou-frou literary stuff that is far from what I write!
ReplyDeleteI saw Nathan's wordle. I'm happy to report the word "like" was NOT in my first paragraph. ;-]
ReplyDeleteYou're a brave soul -- NaNoWriMo seems scary to me.
I'll be there! Username: tamikaeason
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to play with Wordle. Should be a hoot!
Happy writing...
I'll be there. I'm Caroline Starr Rose. Mid-grade chick lit sequel.
ReplyDeleteI'm in [waves hands wildly]. But you're already my writing buddy. If anyone else wants to ad me, I'm joanarc4 over there.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll be working on a sort of supernatural/romance/mystery literary piece that has been banging around in my head for a couple of years...
Not doing it as of yet. I still have so much editing to do on the first :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
Can't now! Just got rewrites and so I'll be working on them for the whole month of November! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'm the_writing_t on NaNo.
ReplyDeleteand i'm doing a Fantasy/Superhero about a girl who gets powers from the fairys and helps them to take down the veil.
I will be partaking!! My user name is the same as it is here (I try to keep things simple). I decided to just start the month with no preparation, but the sci-fi/vampire genre is flitting through my head. We'll see!
ReplyDeleteI've jumped into the NaNo pool --- hope I don't drown.
ReplyDeleteMy NaNo name is wordleeness.
I will also be trying to keep up with my blog:

I'm sure I'll be writing about the NaNo experience in my November posts. This will be quite a challenge -- hope I haven't bitten off more Laffy Taffy than I can chew!
Oh, and so far I have no idea what I'm going to write about. My plan is to wait til Nov. 1 and then start writing and see where it takes me. Unorganized--probably, crazy--yes, will it work? -- we'll see.
I'm in. This will be Year 6 for me (and Win 6 too because I'm too stubborn to admit defeat).
ReplyDeleteI'm KatrinaPink on Nano.
